I miss char kuey teow ! with that in mind i went to the market and bought the ingredients.In penang,we can find it anywhere,but thats not the case in Sunway.So for the char kuey teow lovers out there,here's the recipe:
Ingredients that you need: *serves for 1 person*
- 2 pieces of garlic(2 ulas)
- prawn and cockles(kerang)*both depends on how much you want them*
- 2 of tb Dried chilli*blended*
- 1 egg
- kuchai*not sure what is it called in english*
- Sweet Soy sauce
- 1 tb of Oyster sauce
- 1 cup of water
- A pinch of salt
- A fistful of kuey teow
Steps:
- Put oil into the pan.When the oil is hot enough add garlic
- When the garlic turns yellowish,add the prawns and cockles
- When the prawn is cooked,add the dried chilli paste.Stir well until the chilli is well cooked
- Add water
- Add soy sauce until the color turns black enough
- Add oyster sauce
- Add the egg and immediately stir it
- Add a pinch of salt
- Add Kuey Teow
- Add kuchai
- Stir well,but dont stir to long cause it will ruin the freshness of kuchai
And its ready to be served!
